This version of Splice Periods was recorded at Laboutique Studios Dakar with Sidy Koita, a world-renown balafonist who performs with the Orchestre Nationwide du Sénégal and plenty of different acts. A member of the griot household within the Mandinka group of Senegal, Koita celebrates the wedding of conventional Senegalese devices with fashionable music strategies.
